EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 552 -
ELEVATING THE OFFICE OF THE SOLICITOR GENERAL INTO A MINISTRY
WHEREAS,
the Office of the Solicitor General as law office of the Government of
the Republic of the Philippines, performs a vital role in government,
particularly, in the handling of constitutional and other important
litigations before the Supreme Court and other courts or tribunals;
WHEREAS, the magnitude and importance of the work of the Office of the
Solicitor General requires that it be given the status of a ministry in
line with the ongoing reorganization of the government;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND, E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines,
by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution do hereby
order:

Sec. 5. Since 19.07.98.
DONE in the City of Manila,
