EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 610 - MODIFYING THE RATES OF IMPORT DUTY ON CERTAIN IMPORTED ARTICLES AS PROVIDED UNDER PRESIDENTIAL DECREE NO. 1464, OTHERWISE KNOWN AS THE TARIFF AND CUSTOMS CODE OF 1978, AS AMENDED, IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT THE MARGINS OF TARIFF PREFERENCE IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE ASEAN AGREEMENT ON PREFERENTIAL TRADING ARRANGEMENTS WITH RESPECT TO CERTAIN ARTICLES NEGOTIATED DURING THE FIFTH AND SIXTH MEETINGS OF THE TRADE PREFERENCES NEGOTIATING GROUP AND THE TENTH MEETING OF THE ASEAN COMMITTEE ON TRADE AND TOURISM

Pursuant to the powers vested in me by Sec. 402 of Presidential Decree No. 1464, as amended, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, do hereby direct and order:

Section 1. The articles specifically listed in Annexes “A” and “B” hereof as classified under Section 104 of Presidential Decree No. 1464, shall be accorded the margins of tariff preference as specified in Column 4 of said Annexes “A” and “B” hereof. In effect, such articles shall be subject to the Preferential Tariff for ASEAN indicated in Column 5 of said Annexes “A” and “B”.

Sec. 2. In the event that any subsequent changes are made in the basic Philippine rate of duty on any of the above-mentioned articles, such articles shall automatically be accorded the corresponding margins of preference indicated in Column 4 of Annexes “A” and “B”.  

Sec. 3. On and after 1 April 1980, all the above articles listed in Annex “A” hereof entered or withdrawn from warehouse in the Philippines for consumption shall be subject to the rates of import duty herein prescribed taking into consideration the qualification under the Rules of Origin as provided in the Agreement on ASEAN Preferential Trading Arrangements ratified on August 1, 1977.

Sec. 4. On and after 22 July 1980, all the above described articles listed in Annex “B” hereof entered or withdrawn from warehouse in the Philippines for consumption shall be subject to the rates of import duty herein prescribed taking into consideration the qualification under the Rules of Origin as provided in the agreement on ASEAN Preferential Trading Arrangements ratified on 1 August 1977.
