EXECUTIVE ORDER NO. 56 - DECLARING
THAT ADMINISTRATIVE SUPERVISION OVER THE PROFESSIONAL REGULATION
COMMISSION PERTAINS TO THE OFFICE OF THE PRESIDENT
WHEREAS, the functions of the Professional
Regulation Commission (PRC) are executive in character and should
properly pertain to the Executive Branch of Government which is under
the control of the President;
WHEREAS, there is a pressing need to clarify where administrative
supervision of the PRC should lawfully rest to insure the effective
enforcement of all its policies and decisions;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FIDEL V. RAMOS, President of the Republic of the
Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by law, hereby
declare that administrative supervision over the Professional
Regulation Commission properly pertains to the Office of the President
as an attached agency thereof.
This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.
DONE in the City of Manila,
this 9th day of February in the year of Our Lord, Nineteen Hundred and
Ninety-Three.
