LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 1140 -
INCREASING THE PRICE SUPPORT FOR SORGHUM, SOYBEAN, MONGO, PEANUTS AND
CASSAVA CHIPS |
The Administrator, National Food Authority
All Concerned
WHEREAS, the substantial increases in the costs of inputs have affected the costs of production, not only of palay and corn, but also those of the other cereals like sorghum, soybean, mongo, peanuts and cassava chips;
WHEREAS, there is a need for the government to guarantee the farmers a fair return on their investments;
WHEREAS, it is necessary to increase the price support of sorghum, soybean, mongo, peanuts and cassava chips in order to encourage the farmers to increase their production.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the constitution, do hereby direct the National Food Authority to increase the support prices of the following commodities (clean and dry):

Issued this 25th day of May, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and eighty-one, in the City of Manila.
