LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 1333 |
| Under Executive Order No. 881 the
importation free of customs duties and the Consumer Price Equalization
Fund Import of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) by persons or entities
duly authorized by the Bureau of Energy Utilization was allowed due to
shortages in supply and consequent high import prices at the time of
the promulgation of the Executive Order. Since the implementation of
this Order, however, the availability of LPG in the world market has
improved and the price reduced considerably. In view of the fact that the conditions for this granting of exemptions free from customs duties and Consumer Price Equalization Fund payment no longer exist, such exemption shall now be discontinued. Henceforth, importation of LPG shall be subject to duties as well as the Consumer Price Equalization Fund Impost. The Board of Energy, however, shall study and if justified, may allow recovery of LPG impost cost increases arising from foreign exchange rate fluctuations as in the case of crude oil and diesel importations. This Letter of Instruction is to take effect immediately.
