LETTER OF INSTRUCTIONS NO. 1341 -
DIRECTING THE COORDINATION OF PRICE ADJUSTMENTS |
All Government Corporations Concerned
WHEREAS, there is an urgent need to closely coordinate the various price adjustments which have become necessary as a result of the peso devaluation and fuel price adjustments;
WHEREAS, uncoordinated actions by government ministries and government corporations may lead to unwarranted increases which might result in an inflationary spiral;
WHEREAS, public announcements of all such price adjustments must be made in a clear and understandable manner to the public;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by Law, do hereby order and direct all government ministries and government corporations:
1.
To submit all proposed price adjustments to the Presidential
Coordinating Committee headed by the Minister of Trade and Industry
who, after evaluation, shall submit its recommendations to the
President for approval; and
2. To desist
from making any announcements about price adjustments without prior
clearance from the said Coordinating Committee.
This Order shall take effect immediately and will be in full force and effect until September 30, 1983.
Done in the City of Manila, Philippines, this 7th day of July, nineteen hundred and eighty-three.
