WHEREAS, I have authorized the Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) and the Social Security System (SSS) to jointly host the XXth General Assembly of the International Social Security Associations (ISSA) in Manila from October 27 to November 6, 1980;
WHEREAS, the Association has been established to promote international cooperation, protection, development and advancement of social security programs throughout the world;
WHEREAS, the forthcoming General Assembly will bring honor and prestige to the Philippines, it being the first time that such assembly be held Asia;
WHEREAS, holding the Assembly in Manila will help focus attention on the advances made by our country in providing social protection to all people as well as project to the international community the economic, social, political and cultural achievements of the New Society;
NOW, THEREFORE, I, FERDINAND E. MARCOS, President of the Philippines, by virtue of the powers vested in me by the Constitution, hereby direct that -
(1)
An Organizing Committee to be composed of officials from the GSIS, SSS
and Philippine Air Lines (PAL) be established to plan, direct,
coordinate and obtain from other government offices such assistance and
support as may be deemed necessary:
(2) All
government ministries, corporations, agencies and offices extend full
assistance and support to the Organizing Committee in its work.
Done in the City of Manila, this 16th day of August, in the year of Our Lord, nineteen hundred and seventy-nine.
