COURT STENOGRAPHERS, THRU THE CLERKS OF COURT
SUBJECT:
TRANSCRIPT OF STENOGRAPHIC NOTES.
It has come to the
knowledge of this Court that the transcripts of stenographic notes of
court
hearings are being sold to parties-litigants and/or lawyers at rates in
excess of the legal fees prescribed by law and that no receipts are
issued
for such sale.cralaw:red
In view thereof,
you are hereby enjoined to comply strictly with the explicit provisions
of the Rules of Court, as amended, which took effect on October 1,1984,

Stenographers.
- Stenographers shall give certified transcripts of notes taken to
every
person requesting same upon payment of: [a] Two pesos for each page of
not less than two hundred and fifty words before the appeal is taken;
and
[b] One peso and fifty centavos for the same page, after the filing of
the appeal." (En Banc Resolutions of July 19, 1984 and September

receipt therefor conformably with the Resolution of the Court En
Banc

to require stenographers to issue receipts for the sale of their notes.
- Acting on Resolution No. 85-008 of the Integrated Bar of the
Philippines,
Manila II Chapter, the Court resolved to direct the Office of the Court
Administrator to issue a Memorandum Circular requiring all court
stenographers
to issue receipts for the sale of transcript of stenographic notes of
court
trials to avoid overcharging by stenographers, despite the price fixed
by this Court."Strict
