REPUBLIC ACT NO. 1406 - AN ACT TO
AMEND IN CERTAIN PARTICULARS COMMONWEALTH ACT NUMBERED THREE HUNDRED
AND THIRTY-EIGHT, KNOWN AS THE CHARTER OF THE CITY OF TAGAYTAY |
Section 1. The
second paragraph of section six of Commonwealth Act Numbered Three
hundred and thirty-eight, as amended, otherwise known as the Charter of
the City of Tagaytay, is further amended to read as follows: "The mayor shall receive a
compensation of six thousand pesos per annum. The city secretary shall
receive a compensation of two thousand four hundred pesos per annum.
The members of the city council, including the vice-mayor, shall each
receive a per diem of ten pesos for each day of attendance at the
session of the city council." Sec. 2. A new section is hereby inserted between sections ten and eleven of the same Act, to be known as section ten-A, which shall read as follows: "Section 10-A.
Relations between the City of Tagaytay and the Province of Cavite. —
The City of Tagaytay shall continue as part of the representative
district of the Province of Cavite. The voters of the city shall be
entitled to vote in the election of the elective provincial officials
of the province. Sec. 3. Paragraph (g) of section eleven of the same Act, as amended, is further amended to read as follows: "(g) He shall
appoint, in accordance with the Civil Service Law, all employees of the
office of the mayor, and all heads and assistant heads of departments,
and employees and laborers of the city which may be provided for by law
or ordinance, and, at any time, for cause, he may suspend any such
officer or employee thus appointed for a period not exceeding ten days,
which suspension may continue for a longer period if approved by the
Department Head; and by and with the consent of the Department Head may
discharge any such officer or employee. Sec. 4. This Act shall take effect upon its approval.cralaw Approved: September 9, 1955 |
