Syllabus
This Court cannot take original jurisdiction of a suit by a State to enforce the statutory liability of a stockholder of a state bank, in process of liquidation through a state officer, where the State, although vested by its laws with legal title to the bank's assets and to the cause of action sued on, is acting merely for the benefit of the bank's creditors and depositors. Pp. 304 U. S. 392-396.
