Title 16 - Commercial Practices
(a) Mattress thickness. (1) A mattress supplied with a non-full-size crib shall, in a noncompressed state, have a thickness that will provide a minimum effective crib-side height dimension of at least 50.8 centimeters (20 inches) as measured from the upper surface of the crib side and/or end panel. For this measurement, the crib side shall be in its highest adjustable position and the mattress support in its lowest adjustable position. (2) A mattress supplied with a non-full-size crib shall, in a noncompressed state, have a thickness that will provide a minimum effective crib-side height dimension of at least 7.6 centimeters (3 inches) as measured from the upper surface of the mattress to the upper surface of the crib side and/or end panel. For this measurement, the crib side shall be in its lowest adjustable position and the mattress support in its highest adjustable position. (b) Mattress dimensions. The dimensions of a mattress supplied with a non-full-size baby crib shall be such that the mattress, when inserted in the center of the crib, in a noncompressed state at any of the adjustable positions of the mattress support, shall not leave a gap of more than 1.3 centimeters (
