(a) No application under this subpart may be denied by the Department except upon the written concurrence of the Assistant Legal Adviser for Consular Affairs. (b) All applications shall be considered, evaluated, and/or prepared by the Federal Benefits Section of the Office of Overseas Citizens Consular Services. All federal agencies or other interested persons should contact the office at the address listed in §193.3(d). (c) The Department of State shall, where possible, notify individuals in writing of their eligibility for benefits under the Act, or ineligibility therefor, within thirty days of the Department's decision.
