Title 33 - Navigation and Navigable Waters
The draw of the Amtrak bridge, mile 3.0 in New London, shall open— (a) Immediately on signal for vessels owned or operated by the United States Government, state and local vessels used for public safety, vessels in an emergency, and commercial vessels; except, when a train scheduled to cross the bridge without stopping has passed the Midway, Groton, or New London stations and is in motion toward the bridge, the draw shall not be opened for the passage of any vessel until the train has crossed the bridge; and (b) As soon as practicable for all other vessels but no later than 20 minutes after the signal to open is given.
