(a) This subpart establishes vessel inspection fees for all vessels required to have a Certificate of Inspection and vessel examination fees for all foreign vessels required to have either a Letter of Compliance or a Tank Vessel Examination Letter. (b) The fees in this subpart do not apply to: (1) Vessels being inspected for the initial issuance of a Certificate of Inspection; (2) Foreign passenger vessels; (3) Training vessels operated by State maritime academies; (4) Public vessels of the United States except for Maritime Administration vessels; and (5) Publicly owned ferries.
