(a) An applicant for a license as master of inland steam or motor vessels of not more than 100 gross tons must present one year of service on any waters. In order to raise the tonnage limitation over 100 gross tons, the examination topics indicated in subpart I of this part must be completed in addition to satisfying the experience requirements of §10.452(a). (b) In order to obtain an endorsement on this license for sail or auxiliary sail vessels, the applicant must submit evidence of six months of service on sail or auxiliary sail vessels.
