Whenever a mariner loses a continuous discharge book, merchant mariner's document, or certificate of discharge, the mariner shall immediately report the loss to the nearest OCMI. The report shall be made in writing giving the facts incident to its loss. [USCG-2003–14500, 69 FR 532, Jan. 6, 2004]
