Title 46 - Shipping
(a) The master or person in charge shall designate, in writing, each crane operator. (b) The master or person in charge shall ensure that only designated operators operate cranes. (c) The master or person in charge shall ensure that each designated operator is familiar with the provisions of the API Recommended Practice for Operation and Maintenance of Offshore Cranes, API RP 2D, First Edition (Oct. 1972) with supplement 1.
