(a) In addition to markings required by Section VIII of the ASME Code (IBR, see §171.7 of this subchapter), every tank shall bear permanent marks at least 1/8-inch high stamped into the metal near the center of one of the tank heads or stamped into a plate permanently attached to the tank by means of brazing or welding or other suitable means as follows: Manufacturer's name _______ Serial No.____________________ Nominal capacity _______ (gallons) Tare weight _______ (pounds) (b) [Reserved] [29 FR 18972, Dec. 29, 1964.
