be construed to prohibit restricted collections of tribal cultural
materials with funds made available under this chapter.

Section 366, act June 19, 1956, ch. 407, title IV, Sec. 406, as
added Nov. 22, 1985, Pub. L. 99-159, title III, Sec. 305, 99 Stat. 903,
excluded Indian tribes and Indians in California, Oklahoma, and Alaska
from provisions of this subchapter requiring that services be provided
on or near Indian reservations, or to only those Indians who live on or
near Indian reservations.

prior to the general amendment of this chapter by Pub. L. 91-600,
