RESOLUTION
After a perusal of the records of the case, the Court resolves to DISMISS the appeal for failure to sufficiently show any reversible error in the assailed Decision as to warrant the exercise of the Court's appellate jurisdiction.
WHEREFORE, the Court ADOPTS the findings and conclusions of law in the assailed March 16, 2011 Decision of the Court of Appeals in CA-G.R. CR.-H.C. No. 02825, and AFFIRMS said Decision finding accused-appellant Jonie Orcales y Lanaga guilty beyond reasonable doubt of STATUTORY RAPE penalized under paragraph 1(d), Article 266-A in relation to paragraph 6(5), Article 266-B of the Revised Penal Code, as amended, sentencing him to suffer the penalty of reclusion perpetua without eligibility for parole and ordering him to pay the victim, Jeanette M. Ramoga, the amounts of P75,000.00 as civil indemnity, P75,000.00 as moral damages, and P30,000.00 as exemplary damages, ALL with interest at the rate of 6% per annum from the date of finality of this decision until fully paid.
