Title 14 - Aeronautics and Space
(a) 180-day review. Unless otherwise specified in this chapter, the FAA reviews and makes a determination on a license application within 180 days of receipt of an accepted application. (b) Review period tolled. If an accepted application does not provide sufficient information to continue or complete the reviews or evaluations required by this chapter for a licensing determination, or an issue exists that would affect a licensing determination, the FAA notifies the applicant, in writing, and informs the applicant of any information required to complete the application. If further review is impracticable, the 180-day review period shall be tolled pending receipt by the FAA of the requested information. (c) 120-day notice. If the FAA has not made a licensing determination within 120 days of receipt of an accepted application, the FAA informs the applicant, in writing, of any outstanding information needed to complete the reviews or evaluations required by this chapter for a licensing determination, or of any pending issues that would affect the licensing determination.
