(a)(1) Each State receiving a grant under the State Grants Program or Teacher Recruitment Grants Program must provide, from non-federal sources, an amount equal to 50 percent of the amount of the grant to carry out the activities supported by the grant. (2) The 50 percent match required by paragraph (a)(1) of this section must be made annually during the project period, with respect to each grant award the State receives. (b) Each partnership receiving a grant under the Partnership Grant Program or the Teacher Recruitment Grant Program must provide, from non-federal sources, an amount equal to— (1) 25 percent of the grant award for the first year of the grant; (2) 35 percent of the grant award for the second year of the grant; and (3) 50 percent of the grant award for each succeeding year of the grant. (c) The match from non-federal sources required by paragraphs (a) and (b) of this section may be made in cash or in kind. (Authority: 20 U.S.C. 1021 et seq.)
