Title 42 - Public Health
The Secretary, acting through the Service, shall determine the distribution of Indian Health Scholarships among the health professions based upon the relative needs of Indians for additional service in specific health professions. In making that determination the needs of the Service will be given priority consideration. The following factors will also be considered: (a) The professional goals of recipients of scholarships under section 103 of the Indian Health Care Improvement Act; and (b) The professional areas of study of Indian applicants.
